Upper school years 10 and 11 (age 15-17)

Intensive one year GCSE programme

A real advantage of studying on our one year GCSE programme is that students take their GCSE exams after just one year of study - half the time that British students take.

Students achieve this by working hard and studying in small classes (maximum 10 students) with dedicated teachers who are all specialists in their subjects, many of whom are also qualified to teach English as a Foreign Language.

Students typically need five GCSE exams at grades A* to C to be sure of a place in the sixth form (years 12 & 13) of a good UK school or college.

Two year GCSE programme

For students who need time to develop their language and academic skills we offer a two year GCSE programme. The first year focuses on improving students’ English language skills and introduces them to the standard required for success at GCSE.

Students may sit some GCSE examinations at foundation level. In the second year students choose five or six subjects and study intensively to take GCSE examinations at higher level.

At the end of the programme, students can enter a British boarding school or college to begin studying for A-levels or the International Baccalaureate (IB).
